Third Marking Period by Gabby Lawson TZS11-05

#21A

For my first time using Google sketch-up, I learned the basics. I first used the shape tools and made basic shapes. I used Export--->2D Graphic to save as a JPEG image.

#21B and #21C

For this task, I created 3D shapes. I created shapes using the shape tool and then used the Push-Pull tool to make the shapes 3D. The shape was either push backward or pulled forward.

For the last part of this task, I had to create a bubble text. I used the 3D text and enter the height of the text and how much I wanted the text to Extrude. For instance, I entered a height of 35" and for my Extruded value, I enter 17". I then used the paint-brush tool to change the color of the text.

QUIZ

Blocks 1-12 and the Quiz Block were created in Google Sketch-Up. In the Diagram for the model of Blocks, each unit was equal to 1 foot.I used the measuring tape to measure the dimensions and then the pencil tool to create the lines. I used the push-pull tool to create the 3D look and entered the number of feet for the effect.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE
23

My Gingerbread House was a recreation of 3D shapes and I also used skills that I learned when creating the more difficult blocks in the last task.

25- Glowing Button

In this task, I had to create a glowing button. First, I opened a black canvas as my background. Then, to create this button I first used the ellipsis tool to create a circle. I filled this first circle in with white. In the white circle, I added Drop Shadow and Color Overlay. I overlaid the button with a dark gray. Then, I created another white circle using the ellipsis tool, inside of the dark circle. I applied A grey to light grey reflected gradient overlay to the white circle. To create a metallic like effect onto the button, I applied Filter>Noise and then Blur>Radial Blur. After that, I added the Power Symbol.
To create the glow effect into the power symbol, I added the finished button into a group and created a new group labeled "GLOW EFFECT". Within inner glow and outer glow I added various green colors. Then, I proceeded to create an animation so that the button will appear as if it were glowing on and off. I chose “Window > Animation”, selected the little grey arrow on the right hand side and then selecedt “Convert To Frame Animation." From there I copied the the picture about 14 times and removed the Delay time.

26- Showcase Room

In the creation of my Showcase, I turned on “Snap” by going to “View > Snap” (Shift + Ctrl + ;) then turn on the rulers by going to “View > Rulers” (Ctrl + R). This made it easier when creating the boxes for my boxes, so that it aligned with the specific area. “Edit > Transform > Perspective” changed the viewing of room. It gave it a realistic look of a Showcase room, as if you were looking into it.
To create the light fixtures I used the ellipsis tool to create the circle and then added a metallic effect and layered another ellipsis onto it colored white to look like a light fixture. For the bottom and back light shadows, I used the ellipsis tool. To create the light coming from the "bulb" I used the polygon marque tool. I filled it with white and used the gradient tool to have the light appear stronger from the top and weaker to the bottom. I then set the opacity to 10%.
I filled both with the color white and added Gaussian Blur and changed the opacity to based on my judgement.
I added photos of myself to the showcase room by using the Clipping Mask Method and extracting myself from the original picture. I then used Ctrl+T to transform the size of myself to better fit the room.

#27- Brochure

In my Brochure, I added my school schedule. I spoke a little about the classes I have throughout the day. I mentioned a small bio about myself as well.

SEMESTER REFLECTION

I started Multimedia in September. Since then I have learned about 5 software and how to use them. I learned how to use Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, Google Sketch-Up, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Photoshop. My favorite part of this semester was when I learned how to use Quick Mask to select a part of a picture and alter it instead of using the more difficult Magnetic Lasso that I learned earlier in the year. My least favorite part of this class was using Google Sketch Up. I have no interest in learning architecture and there were too many specific details when creating the Blocks.
Overall, I liked the beginning of this class because it was a bit easier. Closer to the end of the semester the class became more difficult which I was not expecting because it was an elective class. I do appreciate all the things I learned in PhotoShop because I became aware of what professional people use to alter pictures that I see everyday in magazines and billboards.
